A musician.
A dancer.
A pack of speakers.
An HF microphone fixed on the dancer’s body.
The sound is captured by this microphone – that is to say, at the beginning, “nothing”, or rather the particular false silence of the place where the piece is played, this false silence made of thousand micro-noises and breaths, all filtered naturally by the particular resonance of the place.

This “nothing” is sent to the computer, where it is amplified and compressed and then sent to the speakers.
The sound of the loudspeakers is again picked up by the microphone, and the loop is closed again, ad infinitum.

DISASTER is a choreographic concert. An unknown ecosystem. A purplish twilight. A soft howl of wolves.
From a device of interdependence between sound and movement, Kasper Toeplitz and Nina Santes weave a dialogue based on instinct, reactivity, adaptation to an unstable environment.

A visual object that can be listened to, a sound mass that can be watched, DISASTER attempts to blur the lines. No longer trying to know who produces what, but in the same impulse, channeling the overflow – of the gesture, the sound, the multiple, of an animality.
